Good News: IMPPA Calls For Peaceful Release of ADHM & Raees

After the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association’s (IMPPA) announced that it will not work with Pakistani actors until peace returns between India and Pakistan, a cloud of doubt came over the release of two big budget films Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Raees.

While ADHM stars Fawad Khan along with Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai, Raees stars Mahira Khan opposite Shah Rukh Khan.

Soon after the IMPPA announcement, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena had announced they will not allow the release of the two films.

The tensions between India and Pakistan continue unabated but now it looks like IMPPA has gone soft on its hard stand against the films.

Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit, the Vice President of IMPPA took to Twitter to announce that the body has requested MNS leaders' Amey Khopkar and Shalini Thackeray to allow the peaceful release of the films as they are ready for release.
